About Me

I'm Tristan, a happily employed software developer and ScrumMaster at Cozi. Some of my best qualities are ones that you see on paper a lot but are hard to prove, including being a hard worker, good person, good team member and tenacious problem-solver. I've been programming or building web sites and applications in some respect since I was 12. Earlier on I did mostly front-end work, but I've been moving towards the back-end, where I find the problems to be much more interesting and rewarding to solve. I studied at a small liberal arts school where I got a lot of one-on-one time with my professors and advanced my computer science skills to the next level.

Specialties of mine include PHP & LAMP development (PHP5 Zend Certified), scripting languages, web applications, and web performance (see my resume for more). While I'm also skilled at HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML/XSLT and other front-end languages, I'm trying to downplay these skills as I'd like to move on to new areas and more complex problems. Aspirations of mine include starting a successful open source project and making a popular web app that enriches people's lives and relationships.

What I love about Cozi and what has kept me coming back everyday for the last 3 years is its people. Also important to me are its company values, atmosphere and size. These are things that I would require in any workplace in the future. Everyone at Cozi is dedicated to improving the user's everyday life and is passionate about delivering high quality applications. We have swizzles, fun off-sites, weekly "family meetings", parties to celebrate releases, and work/life balance is important for all of us, as our company concept is based on the family. All of these things make Cozi an ideal place for me and are vital in my future.
